The use of machine-learning techniques in fluid-dynamics (and physics more generally) is the subject of great activity in the research community at the moment. We discuss three particular ways ML can be adapted and applied to problems in fluids. These are all methods introduced within the last few years, and give a small impression of research-level topics.
